Esther Hildred Schultz

Funeral services were held September 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville for Esther Hildred Schultz, 72, who died September 6 in Postville. The Rev. Norris C. Swenson officiated.

Esther was born July 21, 1906 on a farm in Bloomfield Township in Winneshiek County to Isaac J. and Lavina Albright Allen. She graduated from Postville High School and married Elmer L. Schultz on November 15, 1924.

With her husband, she farmed near Postville until his death in 1968, and then moved to Postville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lynne; two sisters, Mabel and Mildred; a granddaughter, Sandra; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Schultz.

She is survived by her three children, Donald, Postville; Elizabeth (Mrs. Arthur E. Loftsgard), Swea City, Iowa and Jean (Mrs. Robert Friederich), Castalia; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Cannon, La Porte City, Iowa, Mrs. Iva Thompson, Zephyrhills, Florida, and Mrs. Ethel Harvey, Castalia; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Casket Bearers: Allen Friederich, Kevin Friederich, Randal Friederich, Charles "Chuck" Friederich, Brian Friederich, Doran Schultz, all grandchildren.

She was member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for the past 50 years.
