Services Held For Emil Schultz

The funeral service for Emil Karl Schultz was held Monday, October 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, with the Rev. Norman Ullestad officiating. Mr. Schultz died Friday, October 11.

Born November 13, 1897 in Luana, the son of Karl and Marie Krogmann Schultz, Emil was baptized January 27, 1898 and confirmed on March 31, 1912 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luana.

On March 27, 1919 he was married to Mable Schultz and to this union ten children were born.

He farmed in the Luana, Rudd and Postville areas and worked for two years in the WPA program. The couple moved to Postville and for five years he worked for the REC, then for 18 years operated "Emil's Place". He had been retired for the last nine years.

Preceding him in death were three daughters in infancy; two sons, Eldon and Wesley; seven brothers, Henry, Carl, Louis (Suzie), Willy, Fred and two in infancy; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Ida) Schutte, Sr.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Eudora) Moore of Luana; four sons, Emil, Jr. of Castalia; Carlas of Medina, Illinois; Willis of Marion, Iowa and Floyd of Elgin, Illinois; 20 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother Harold of Postville and many other relatives.

Interment was in the Postville cemetery.
