Florence Marie Martha Schutte

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Schutte, Jr. were held Tuesday, July 30, 1991, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The organist was Mrs. Bernald Martins. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Myrl Dickman, Robert Plaht, Marvin "Mick" Meyer, Carl Meade, Joe Duwe, Milton Schutte, Merlin Imoehl and Dr. Robert Schneider. Honorary casket bearers were George Friederich, Ronald Taylor, Harold Panncke, August Holthaus, Mel Noecker and Marlin Plaht.

Florence Marie Martha Schutte, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Bareis) Duwe, was born July 5, 1911, in Clayton County, Iowa. She died Saturday, July 27, 1991, at her home in Postville. She was baptized September 29, 1911, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. R. Kuhne and confirmed there August 31, 1924 by the Rev. E. Schmidt. Florence attended the Springfield School. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. On December 7, 1939, she was married to Charles Frederick Schutte, Jr. by the Rev Frederick R. Ludwig. They lived on the Schutte Family farm for 40 years before moving to Postville in 1987.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, who died in 1988, two brothers, Roy and Harvey Duwe and one sister, Celia Engelhardt. Surviving are three sisters, Clara Schroeder, Helen Duwe and Viola Duwe and a sister-in-law, Leola Duwe, all of Postville.
