Jane Downs Schrody, Former Well Know Waukon Lady At Rest

Friends of Mrs. Geo. Schrody, who resided here until about 16 years ago, will regret to learn of her death which occurred at the hospital at Milwaukee, Oregon, on June 8.

Mrs. Ed. Duggan received a letter from Mrs. Schrody's granddaughter, Miss Jeannette McGarrity, stating that her grandmother sustained a paralytic stroke on the 19th of May and had been getting weaker until death relieved her of her suffering. She was 80 years old. Her husband died last July at the age of 90. The family will be remembered as having resided in the now owned by Mrs. Anna Engrave east of the court house.

Her daughter was Mrs. Dick McGarrity, whose husband conducted a photography gallery here while they were residents of Waukon. They have both passed away. Four grandchildren survive, namely, Mrs J. B. Michels, Oregon City, Oregon; Jeannette and William McGarrity, Portland, and Richard McGarrity, Chicago.
