Goodykoontz -At home in Waukon, March 6, 1890, of heart disease, Mrs. Jane E. Goddykoontz, aged 42 years, 2 months and 21 days

Jane E. Hale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Hale, was born at Belvidere, Ill, December 15, 1847. She came to Lansing, Iowa, with her parents in 1851, who after a residence there of two years moved to Hale's corners, a few miles northwest of Waukon, and in 1867 moved to Victory, Wisconsin, where she was married to Ansel E. Goodykoontz May 15, 1875, became a resident of Waukon, and has lived here ever since except a few years spent in Dakota, returning to Waukon in 1885. By the death of her husband Nov. 18, 1888, she was left a widow, and for some years her health was quite shattered. She leaves two bright young daughters Dee, aged 9, and Minnie, aged 6 years, who become members of the family of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Conner. She became a devoted member of the M. E. church in 1886 and was a woman of superior mind and lovely Christian character. No one knew her but to love her.

The funeral was held at the M. E. Church Saturday p. m., Rev L. U. McKee officiating.

Relatives from aboard attending the funeral were George and Emma Munson of Mitchell county, Miss R. Burhyte of East Dubuque, and Mr. Davillo Hale of Belvidere, Ill., cousins: and the friend of many years, Mrs. A. McMichael, of LaCrosse.
