RUEBEN C. SHAFER 1923-1983

Services for Rueben C. Shafer of Evansdale were held Friday, July 8, 1983 at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home in Waterloo with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Rueben was born August 22, 1923 in Allamakee County to Carl and Martha Shafer. He married Eva Cunningham September 9, 1978. He died July 5, 1983 of cancer at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo.

He was employed at the John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife, one stepson, Mark of Waterloo, three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Klocke and Mrs. Luebka, both of Waukon and Ruth Shafer of Postville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
