Lorenz Marion Willman, son of Rudolph and Amelia (Reincke) Willman, was born June 3, 1915 in Clayton County, Iowa. He passed away December 9, 1981 at Postville, [Allamakee Co.] Iowa.
He was baptized January 7, 1916 and confirmed August 11, 1929 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. During W.W.II he served in the U.S. Navy.
On December 7, 1948 he was united in marriage to Shirley David. To this union three children were born. Lorenz had a Ford dealership for many years, and for the past 24 years he was an auctioneer and realtor. He was also active in farming during this time and an avid hunter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Elsie and two brothers, Lester and Harlan.
Surviving are a son, Ford, daughter-in-law, Patricia, both of Postville; two daughters, Barbara Willman, and Mrs. Gary (Sherri) Oman, and son-in-law, Gary Oman, all of Mesa, AZ, a granddaughter, Faith Marie Willman, a sister, Mrs. LaVila Schmidt, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Christina Willman, both of Postville, and four nieces.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was also a member of both the Iowa and National Association of Realtors and the Iowa and National Auctioneering Association.
The funeral service was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa on Sunday, December 13, 1981. Burial was in Postville Cemetery.
