Funeral services were held Monday, December 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Mrs. Howard (Augusta) Wykoff, who died Friday, December 21 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.
Augusta Miller Wykoff, daughter of Charles Miller and Louisa Michael was born August 1, 1891 at Postville. She was baptized into St. Paul Lutheran Church June 29, 1892 and also confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
On August 3, 1915 she was married to Howard S. Wykoff of Des Moines. They lived in several communities during his railroad career which included 30 years at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The retired to Waterloo. (IA)
Following the death of her husband she returned to Postville and made her home with the Wilbert Wilkes for eight years, moving to the Good Samaritan Center two years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers, Henry, August, William and Louis. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ida) Bellows, Mrs. John (Bertha) Gregg and Mrs. Wilbert (Anna) Wilke, all of Postville and Mrs. C.F. (Amanda) Smith of Waterloo, together with several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
