Services Held For Mrs. Clara Miller

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Miller were held in Schutte's Chapel Saturday, March 20, 1971, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Dick Harberts officiating. She died suddenly in Postville Wednesday, March 17, 1971. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Clara Louise Wegner, daughter of Carl and Christine Nise Wegner, was born April 28, 1890, on a farm one mile south of Postville. She grew up in this community and received her education in the Postville schools. She was confirmed in the St. Paul Lutheran Church March 27, 1904 in Postville.

Clara lived around Postville all of her life. She was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church. She worked and supported diligently the United Presbyterian Women's work and circle activities. She helped prepare the elements for Holy Communion for many years. Clara was a member of the Senior Citizens and a committed volunteer helper at the Allamakee County Home for 11 years. She was a charter member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Clara was married to William C. Schroeder February 9, 1911, in Postville. Two sons were born to this union: Francis Charles and Carlton William. She was married to August Miller on July 1, 1930.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Schroeder, on March 31, 1927; her son, Carlton W. Schroeder, on September 6, 1957; her second husband, August Miller, on September 12, 1968. Also one brother and three sisters: Charles Wegner, Mrs. Emma Everman, Mrs. Edith Gwynn, and Anna Wegner. Also one grandchild.

She is survived by one son, Francis of Cloquet, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Marie Davis of Salinas, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.
