Rites Held For Art Schroeder

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville for Arthur H. Schroeder, who passed away January 1 at Postville Hospital. The Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Postville Cemetery.

Arthur Henry Schroeder was born on September 18, 1888 in Clayton county, the son of Henry Schroeder and his wife Mary Jahnke Schroeder. He was baptized in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on October 20, 1889 and confirmed on April 5, 1903.

He passed away on January 1, 1957 at the Postville Hospital after a lingering illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and John; and three sisters Elizabeth (Mrs. Ernest Bigler), Bertha and Minnie Schroeder.

He is survived by one sister, Tillie (Mrs. William Topel) of Monona, one brother, Edward C. Schroeder of Postville, a number of nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
