Father of Clarion Lady Dies Mar. 11

Mrs. W. Gordon Smedsrud's father, Alvin Prestemon, 65, died at his home in Waukon last Wednesday after a several months illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at Waukon. Besides Mrs. Smedsrud, he is survived by his wife and another daughter, Mrs. Milton Haugen of Wanamingo, Minn.
Mr. Prestemon had retired from the farm and moved into a new home in Waukon a few months before his death. He was a leader in community and church affairs in Allamakee County, and in 1942 received the Master Farmer award in Iowa.
