SNITKER, DEENEY, BULMAN, BECHTEL

James C. Snitker, 72, of 1022 Wiley Blvd. NW, all paid went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2000, in St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Central Park Presbyterian Chruch. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; a son Rick of Norway; three daughters, Bonnie Tierman, Ann Snitker and Jan Croskrey and husband Craig, all of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Ben of Palo; three sisters, Shirley Johnson of Decorah, Gertrude Hangartner of Postville and Marion Wirkler of Monona, 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Irvin, Lawrence, Walter, Merlin, and Robert; and a sister Arlene Deeney.

James was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Waukon, Iowa to Elmer and Emma Bechtel Snitker, and married Betty Bulman there on June 21, 1947. He worked in maintenance at Cargill East for 36 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Central Park Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder; Moose Lodge No. 304 and Teamsters Local 238.

Jim's good nature and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contribution may be made to Central Park Presbyterian Church, Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
