David Bechtel Kerndt, 57, of Las Vegas, formerly of Waukon, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, in Las Vegas after a sudden illness. Services; 11 a.m. today, First Presbyterian Church, Waukon, by the Rev. Larry Olson. Burial of ashes: Lansing Ridge Cemetery, rural Lansing. Martin Funeral Home, Waukon is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Scroggs of Marion and Pauls Wickham of Dubuque; a son, Kyle of Waukon; his mother, Adeline Kerndt of Waukon ; and two sisters, Mary Kay Winke of Waukon and Becky Litterer of Dougherty.
