Arla Olava Ebner Bulman, 69, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in Veterans Memorial Hospital after a lenghty illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, First Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Larry Olson, Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.

Survivors include her husband, Charles: a daughter, Linda Brink of Waukon; five sons, James, Leonard and David, all of Waukon, Kevin of Mililani, Mn. and Kenneth of Roy, Wa; and two brothers, Charles Ebner of Preston, Mn. and Gordon Ebner of Sparks, Nv,

Born June 24, 1927 in Waukon, Arla Olava Bulman was the daughter of Harvey and Olga (Lier) Ebner. She attended French Creek Township rural elementary school and graduated from Waukon High School in 1944.

Arla married Charles Bulman July 18, 1944 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon. She worked at Hanson Grocery Store and Dahlke's IGA, as well as being secretary at Feuerhelm Manufacturing for many years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and its women's organizations; and active member of the Republican party; had served on the Allamakee County Election Board, and was a former Cub Scout den mother.

She died Tuesday, May 6, 1997 in Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 69.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Gayle Brink of Waukon; five sons and their wives, James and Jean, Leonard and Jackie, and David and Donna, all of Waukon. Kevin and Kim of Mililani, HI, and Kenneth and Lesa of Roy, WA.; two brothers and their wives, Charles and Clarice Ebner of Preston, MN, and Gordon and Marilyn Ebner of Sparks, NV.; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with arrangements by Martin Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Jeff, Jason and Jeremy Brink, Lenny, Bob and Travis Bulman.
