Patrick L. Welsh Funeral Monday
A con-celebrated mass of requiem was offered Monday, Sept 30 in St. Patrick's Church in Waukon at 10 a.m. for Patrick L. Welsh of Waukon. The officiating priests were the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Frederic G. Heles, the Rev. Cyril English, the Rev. William Hobner, the Rev. Raymond Duffy and the Rev. Edgar Koltenbach. Internment was in St. Mary's cemetery, Lycurgus with military rites. Active pallbears were Daniel McCauley, James Ward, Richard Welch, Ralph Lyons, Robert Welch and Dennis Ronan. Honorary pallbears were Cyril Murphy, Jin Ryan, Francis Plein, Pat B Welch, Robert Curtin, James Plein, Frank Welch and Peter Sweeney.
Mr. Welsh died Friday, Sept 27 in St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse Wis. after a perion of ill health.
He was born Nov. 22, 1892 in French Creek township and was a son of Andrew and Catherine McCormack Welsh. He attended the rural schools and farmed in Hanover and the Lycurgus area until his retirement in 1963 when they moved to Waukon.
June 8, 1920, he married Mary Zoll in St. Mary's Church in Hanover. She survives, as do 11 children. They are Mrs. Earl (Kay) Moore, New Albin; Robert, New Albin; Mrs. Cliff (Alice) Armstrong, Tompah, Wisconsin; Mrs. Robert (Mary Lou) Cota, Harpers Ferry; William, Lansing; Daniel, Waukon; Lloyd, Lansing; Bernard, Waukon; Mrs Robert (Bernadine) Heffern, Harpers Ferry; Mrs. Robert (Ida Mae) Gonsalves, San Jose, Calif. and Jerry of Waukon.
Forty-eight grandchildren, four brothers, Lawrence and John of Waukon, James of Compton, Calif and William of La Crosse, Wisc. and a sister Mrs. Jerome (Florence) Hutzenbuehler of La Crosse also survive. He was preceded in death by four infant children, two brothers, Emmett and Joseph and two sisters, Mrs. William (Mayme) Byrnes and Mrs. John (Kate) Huffman.
Mr Welsh served in World War I and was a member of the Arerican Legion. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Waukon, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Lycurgus rosary society. He was a former member of the Calhoun Creamery board and was on the Waukon Locker board at the time of his death.

D.; Mrs. John Quillin, Chicago; Mrs. Clarence Murphy and Tom Mahoney, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs Larry Vaaler and Mrs. Paul Mann, Mrs. Dorothy Anfenson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walsh and Eleanor Walsh. La Crosse, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Jean Reese, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Von Haden and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Welsh, La Crescent, Minn.; Mary Jo Moore and Marlene Moore, Winona, Minn.; Sheryl Moore and Joel Gilbertson, Iowa City, and Mrs. Don Kane and Mrs. Glen Drangstveit of Tomah, Wis.
