Hulda A. Weber, 87, of Waukon, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 30, at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen, Minn., with Rev. Wayne Lura officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon was in charge of the arrangements. Hulda Alma Ring Weber was born July 19, 1916, in New Ulm, Minn., the daughter of William and Amanda (Berg) Ring. She was baptized and confirmed at Friedens Evangelical Church in New Ulm and attended the New Ulm Schools. Hulda worked in Sleepy Eye, Minn., for several years as a cook at the City Cafe and also at Peteres Foods. On September 26, 1946, she married Clarence W. Weber in New Ulm. Hulda and Clarence farmed together in rural Dorchester. Hulda enjoyed living on the farm and tending to her garden. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen, where she took part in women's circles when she was able. In 1974, they retired and moved to Waukon. Clarence died in 1987 and since 1998, Hulda has been a resident at Northgate Care Center. Survivors include a brother, Robert Ring of New Ulm, Minn.; a niece, Marie Thiede; two nephews, Robert and Alan Ring; and several grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, and a brother William. Memorials may be made in Hulda's name to the donor's favorite charity.
