Waukon, Ia. - SPECIAL: Funeral services will be held here Monday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic Church for Peter Sweeny, of this city. A requiem mass will be celebrated by the pastor, the Rev. Ernest J. McDonald, and burial will be made in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lycurgus.

Mr. Sweeny died suddenly at his home here late Thursday afternoon of a heart attack.

He was born Dec. 8, 1868, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sweeny, pioneer residents of this vicinity. He resided on a farm near Lycurgus all his life up to several years ago, when he retired and moved to this city.

He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Mary McCroden, and one son, Private Clem Sweeny, of Baton Rouge, La., and four daughters, Mrs. Daniel Steele, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Daniel; McCauley, Waukon; and Miss Dorothy and Miss Frances Sweeny, of Des Moines. There are six grandchildren. An only sister, Mrs. William McCormack, resides in Waukon.
