Olvin J. Moe, 59, died Tuesday in a Rochester hospital.

Moe, a lifelong resident of Allamakee county and known widely throughout northeastern Iowa, was a prominent automobile dealer.

He was born May 25, 1891, in Paint Creek township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Moe. He was educated in the rural schools and later attended the Winona, Minn., Business college and the Twin City Tractor school.

From 1915 to 1932 he operated a garage at Waterville. Following his marriage on June _, 1933, to Grace Sweet, he moved to Waukon in 1933 to establish a new garage.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Janice and Calvin; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Collins, Waterville, and Mrs. Rudolph Riple, Stoddard, Wis.; and one brother, Oscar A. Moe, Harpers Ferry.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Martin's Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery.
