Waukon, Ia., Nov. 7 - Funeral services were held at St. John the Baptist church at West Ridge Thursday morning for William Farley, a pioneer resident of that locality, who died Tuesday morning at his home in Union Prairie township near the West Ridge church. A requiem high mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. J.F. McCaffrey, and burial was made in Mount Olivet* cemetery.

Mr. Farley was born in Ireland August 17, 1853, and when a child came with his parents to Allamakee county, and resided in this locality all these years.

Mr. Farley is survived by his widow, who was Miss Mary Cunningham, of Hanover, and by one daughter, Miss Florence at home, and three sons, Charles, married and residing in Union Prairie, and Emmet and Leonard at home. A sister, Miss Ellen Farley, of Waukon, also survives him, and another sister, Mrs. Joseph Steele, of Seattle, Wash. A daughter preceded him in death.

Although the Waukon Republican Standard & Allamakee Journal also published obits giving Mt. Olivet cemetery as place of burial, he is buried in West Ridge cemetery. He has a gravestone in that cemetery.

Also the Allamakee Death Records give burial place as West Ridge, as does an obit in the Waukon Democrat.
