AGED WOMAN INSTANTLY KILLED BY TRAIN
Mrs. Carl Jordan Victim of Freight in Accident Saturday NightMrs. Carl Jordan, 70, was instantly killed by a Milwaukee freight train about 9 p.m. Saturday evening as she was crossing the tracks near the depot.
Mrs. Jordan, née Alvina Beyer, was born in Pommern, Preussen, Germany, Jan. 3, 1866. In 1882 she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm near Monroe, Wis. She was united in marriage to Carl Jordan, Sept. 12, 1883, and resided on a farm northwest of New Albin, moving to town March 1, 1918.
She is survived by her husband, five sons, Eric and Reinhardt, New Albin; Fred, St. Paul; Alvin, Chicago; Rudolph, Guttenberg; and one daughter, Mrs. Leo Crowley, new Albin. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the home.
