Shirley Boleyn
Shirley Boleyn, 54, of Castalia, died suddenly Sunday, April 25, 1999, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, at 11 a.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Glesne officiating.
Diane Kvamme will be the organist with Joyce Shuler as the soloist. The congregation will sing "The Old, Rugged Cross," "What A Wondrous Love Is This" and "Amazing Grace".
Casket bearers will be John Bahr, Roger Boleyn, Jerry Frey, Scott Knutsen, Steve Knutsen and Jerry Monroe. Honorary bearers will be her brothers.
Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon. The Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Shirley Ann (Anderson) Boleyn was born July 22, 1944, at Waukon, the daughter of Melvin J. and Ruth Evelyn (Selberg) Anderson.
She attended Waukon High School. Most recently, she had worked at Deco Products in Decorah as a press operator for 17 years. Shirley was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church and its church circle.
Survivors include her longtime companion Jerry Rekward of Castalia; and 6 children and 2 grandchildren, Barb and John Bahr and Tyler of Cashton, Wis.; Jeannie Shimek and Jessica of Highlandville; Tom and Tara Boleyn of Nashville, Tenn.; Rick and Sandy Boleyn of Cedar Rapids; Robert Boleyn and Daryl Spreiter of San Francisco, Calif.; and Rich Rekward of Highlandville.
Also surviving are four brothers, Donald and Kyong Anderson of Tacoma, Wash., Odel and Chris Anderson of Lancaster, Pa., Richard and Joan Anderson of Davenport, and Gordon and Pat Anderson of Cedar Rapids; and four sisters, Donna Shuler of Decorah, Carolyn and Forrest Linzey of Platteville, Wis., Linda and Vic Villont of Mesa, Ariz., and Darlene and William Hartkemeyer of Walker.
Shirley Boleyn was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter and one grandson.
