Marie Snitker

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 23, at the Frankville Community Church for Mrs. Wesley L. Snitker, who passed away at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital on February 20. Rev. Lloyd Sorenson was in charge of the rites; burial was in the Frankville cemetery.

Marie Ethel (Hangartner) Snitker was born February 17, 1920 to Fred and Fern Hangartner at Postville, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Postville Community Church. She graduated from Postville high school in the class of 1937.

She was united in marriage to Wesley L. Snitker of Frankville on June 16, 1938 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. They lived on a farm near Castalia until 1945 then moved to Frankville, where they have lived since. To this union were born 14 children of whom 13 are living.

Mrs. Snitker passed away February 20, 1964 at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wisconsin at the age of 44 years and two days.

She was preced in death by one son, Robert who died at birth; and her mother, Fern Hangartner, who passed away September 3, 1948.

She was an active member of the Frankville Community Church until her health began to fail.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Wesley; 13 children, Gary of Coggan, Gale of Bell, Missouri, Grant of Castalia, Judy (Mrs. Roger Waters) of Frankville, Kathy of Cedar Rapids, Janet (Mrs. Clark Larson) of Decorah, Karen, Sandy, Gorman, Karla, Gregory, Patty and Gordon at home; seven grandchildren; her father and step-mother of Postville; two sisters, Enola (Mrs. Bert Sturm) of Davenport and Bernita (Mrs. Les Broders) of Walla Walla, Washington; plus many other relatives and friends.
