Obituary for Mame Moe from Waukon newspaper June 1974

Final Rites For Mrs. Moe

Funeral services wee held Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m. from Bakke and Hanson funeral home in Waukon for Mrs. Mamie Moe of Waterville, sho died Jan. 5, at the Louis Moe home in Waterville.

The Rev. Ronald Brugger of Bruce, S.D. officiated and the interment was in Oak Hill cemetery in Lansing. Willis Mathis, Gerald Mathis, Don Heims, John Seitz, Kenneth Rathbun and John Johnson were pallbearers.

Mamie Warren was born Nov. 12, 1896 in Edgerton, Wis. and was a daughter of Thomas and Mary Warren. She lived in Edgerton until she was 16 and moved to Lansing. She graduated from Lansing high school and Oct. 10, 1918 married Hans Jacob Moe in Old East Paint Creek church. She lived in rural Lansing until 1972.

Survivors are three sons, Walter Jacob Moe of Pensacola, Fla., Marvin C. Moe of Berwick, LA., and Louis Atkin Moe of Waterville, and a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Hilma) Rathbun of Waterville. Fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Alice) Thornton of Zion, Ill., Mrs. William (Helen) Kinstler of LaCrosse, WI., and Mrs. LeRoy (Catherine) Jeglum of Waterville also survive. A son, Karl preceded her in death as did a brother, Thomas Warren and two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Marguerite) Shafer and Elizabeth Warren.

Mrs. Moe was a member of Old East Paint Creek Church and of the Priscilla Circle.
