Mrs. Vida Seig

Vida Seig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter White, was born in Allamakee county, August 18, 1890 and passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in Waukon, June 7, 1961 at the age of 70 years and nine months.

Mrs. Seig was a life-long resident of this community. She received her education in the rural schools of this county and the Waukon Business College at Waukon.

She leaves to mourn her passing her four children: Verna, Mrs. Emmett Schroeder of Frankville; Benjamin of Monona; Vivian, Mrs. Forrest Brainard, of Postville and Jean, Mrs. Clarence Brainard, of Luana; four brothers, John and Edward White of Postville, Elmer of Monona, and Earnest of Waukon; also two sisters, Mrs. Delbert Reinke of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. William Christofferson of Postville; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Gordon, and one sister, Alice. Mrs. Seig had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Home for only a few weeks when her death occurred.

Services were held from the Forest Mills E. U. B. Church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 with Rev. Curtis H. Webster officiating. Burial was made in the Hardin Cemetery in Franklin township.

There is conflicting information as to how Sieg/Seig should be spelled so have included both spellings. In the obit of her husband, Herman, the surname is spelled Sieg.
