Lansing, Ia - Funeral services were conducted here Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Lloyd Bartholomew, pastor, at the Federated Church for Henry Lenz, 86, who died Saturday afternoon following 15 years of invalidism. Burial was in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery. Casketbearers were: John and Curtis Lenz, Merlin Gramlich, William Underwood, Vernon Bakewell, and Earl Garrett. Mr. Lenz was born in Allamkee County August 22, 1855. He was educated in the rural schools and lived on the same farm for 65 years. He was married to Mary Gramlich March 28, 1878. Mrs. Lenz died Jan. 30, 1939. Mr. Lenz was a farmer, thresher, veterinarian, and horse breeder. He retired 20 years ago and moved to Lansing. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Emma Parks of Gilette, Wyo., Mrs. Nettie Yahnke of Garden City, Minn., Mrs. Edna Bakewell of Maywood, Ill., and Mrs. Clara Bauman of Church; four sons: Theodore of Colby, Wis., Edward of Eagle Bend, Minn. and William and Harry, both of Lansing; 30 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Engelhorn of New York City.
