Funeral services for Veronica Marie Vichlach, 84, New Albin, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin. The Rev. Carl Manternach officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.

She died Saturday, July 30 at her home in New Albin.

She was born May 17, 1893 in New Albin to Frank and Dridget Schmitz Brennen. She was a life-long resident of that area and attended the New Albin school. She was employed part-time at the post office there and was also a librarian.

She married Stephen Vichlach Sr. in New Albin. He preceded her in death May 14, 1936. Five sisters, six brothers and a son, John Joseph, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Stephen of Monona and Victor of South Carolina, and three grandchildren.

She was a member of the St. Joseph's Rosary Society.

Pallbearers were Raymond Sires, Leon Hosch, Robert Bulman, Floyd Pottratz, Peter Hartley and Fred Mauss.

Martin Funeral Home of Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
