Peter Brannan died Wednesday, June 30th, 1915, at the home of his son John in Paint Rock. He was born in Canada about sixty-seven years ago and came to his county in the early days, settling in Fairview township. He was married to Mary McCabe about forty years ago and to this union were born four children, John of Paint Rock, Jas. of Dorchester, Peter Jr., of Waukon, and Mrs Will Kean, who died last May. His wife died last November and since then the husband seemed to decline in health and his daughter's death was a crushing blow. Deceased was a model man in every way and all who knew him were his friends. He moved from Cherry Mound to a farm near Dorchester about two years ago. He came to live with his son John a couple months ago. The remains were buried besides his wife, Friday, after a Requiem Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Father Sheenan officiating. The pall bearers were Tim McCarty, M. T. Garin, B. J. Finnegan, J. F. Corrigan, Edw. Fitzimmons, and James Connelley. May his soul rest in peace.
