Funeral services for Rueben* Adam, 70, were held Wednesday, August 28, 1991, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, rural Postville. The Rev. James Elvig officiated, soloist was Barbara Guese and organist was Shirley Brainard. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Reuben* Herman Adam, son of Martin and Meta (Hansmeier) Adam, was born September 26, 1920, in Ludlow Township, near Postville. He died Saturday, August 24, 1991, in Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah.
He was baptized in the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and attended rural schools near his home. On September 21, 1956, he married Marlene Louise McNally at Caledonia, MN. They had three children. He was employed at the Winneshiek Hotel and Luther College in the maintenance department.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Marlene, one son, Marty Adam and his wife, Edna, Ossian; two daughters, Delores (Adam) and her husband, David Grant, Waukon and Rose Adam and her fiance, Elmer Hansen, Burr Oak and three grandchildren, Holly, Marie and Shaina Adam.
Casket bearers were Dwayne Brink, Elmer Hansen, Lee Kleppe, Mark Kleppe, Gary King and Charles Coffey.
