Elgin Echo, Thursday, 04 October 1906.

Mrs. Hiram Hammond, a sister of George Stoehr, died at her home in Postville Monday evening at nine o'clock. The funeral was held at Garnavillo Wednesday. Mr. Stoehr went to that place to be in attendance.
