Ed Livingood

Edwin Rolland Livingood, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, July 31, 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 10 at the Decorah Fish Hatchery in Decorah, led by Reverend Gary Krapfl. That celebration will be followed by a time of food and fellowship at the Fish Hatchery in Decorah. In case of rain, services will be held at T-Bock's Restaurant in Decorah at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Ed was born January 9, 1955 in Waukon, the son of Leslie “Les” and JoAnn (Swenson) Livingood. He graduated from Postville High School in 1974.

Ed was united in marriage to Colleen Hogan August 21, 1976 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Postville.

Ed worked for UPS for over 30 years. He also had a mail route in northeastern Iowa, and worked as an independent construction contractor. Ed also helped his father at the Livingood Supper Club and their land in Harpers Ferry.

Ed enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting, fishing, bicycling and grooming his yard. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his wife on their trips to Mexico. He was a wrestling coach for both of his boys as they were growing up. Ed was a man of many talents; he could fix anything that was in need of repair.

Ed is survived by his wife of 37 years, Colleen; his two sons, Brandon and his wife, Rebecca, of Monument, CO, and Blake and his wife, Jessica, of Cary, NC; two grandchildren, Tristan and Cannon of Monument, CO; his parents, Leslie and JoAnn Livingood of Lansing; his brothers and sisters, Gwen (Joe) Balk of Postville, Willo Livingood of Prairie du Chien, WI, Dale Livingood of Minnesota and Todd Livingood of Florida.

Ed was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lynn and Daisy Livingood; his maternal grandparents, Hall and Florence Swenson; and his father-in-law, Terry Hogan.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville is in charge of arrangements.
