Jennie Allen Cowan was born at Postville, Iowa, April 14, 1862, a daughter of Wilson and Emilene Allen. She moved with her parents to Austin, Minnesota, and was united in marriage there with Walter J. Cowan. She passed away at her home in Minneapolis, where she had lived thirty-five years, June 27, 1922, leaving to mourn her loss her husband, her son Ray and daughter Hazel, and three sisters- Rose Bartholomew of Cresco, Frances Beedy of Postville and Daisy Richards of Austin, Minn. Her brother Charles preceded her four years. Christian Science services were held at the Small Chapel. Interment in the beautiful Crystal Lake cemetery. To know her was to love her.
