Postville Review, Friday, 21 April 1916.

Ida Taylor was born in Cayuga county, New York, Sept. 29, 1855. She came with her _____ to Allamakee county, Iowa in ____. She was married to Cassius _. Buttolph, Dec. 23, 1874. That ___ year they moved to Hamilton _____, Iowa, and in 1886, they came to Ford county, Kansas, where they have since resided.

Six children were born to this union, all of whom are still living. Four brothers and two sisters also survive her.

This is the only death in this family of either generation except that of a brother who died at the age of 16.

Mr. and Mrs. Buttolph have been honored and respected citizens of this community for 30 years. They have been identified with the country since its first settlement. They are the kind of people who help to make a good country and citizenship. About one year ago they left the farm and took up residence in town to make the work of life easier.

Mrs. Buttolph has been in poor health for more than a year, but had grown stronger and it was hoped that she might live many years, but heart disease does not leave much room for hope. She had gone to Kansas City for medical treatment where she died on Sunday morning, April 2nd, aged 60 years, 6 months and 3 days. Her husband and son, Lee, were with her at the time of her death.

The body was brought home Monday and the funeral was held from the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Mrs. Buttolph joined the Methodist church one year ago and was a loyal and faithful Christian woman. Her death is a great loss to the community and the church, but to the family it is so much more. The sympathy of the entire community is with them.- Bucklin Banner, Bucklin, Kansas.

Deceased was a sister of Mrs. L. A. Bellows and Mrs. E. E. Burdick of this city.
