Lorraine Monserud

Lorraine Monserud, 75, died, Friday, March 29, 1996 at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Donald Klein officiated. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery with arrangements by Stewart Funeral Home.

She was born July 24, 1920 in Dorchester to Joseph and Rose (Duffy) Schulte.

She married Alfred “Fritz” Monserud of Waterville Jan. 18, 1945 in Cedar Rapids. Lori was an elementary school teacher in Waukon and Cedar Rapids, and a hospital auxiliary volunteer.

Surviving are a daughter, Ann Monserud of Coralville; four sons, Robert of Moscow, Id. Gerald of Iowa City, Randall of Cedar Rapids, and Jon of Nederland, Co.; a brother, Leon Schulte of Waukon, and six sisters, Aileen Hammel of Cresco, Adele Howe of Waukon, Madonna Blocker of Marion, and Rita May, Joan Troendle and Karen Hammel, all of Cedar Rapids.

Preceding her in death were her husband who died Feb. 3, 1985; a sister, Blanche McClain, and three brothers, Dale, Harold and Donald Schulte.
