Leo Haas

Leo Haas, residing on the Haas homestead near Lycurgus church, died Friday morning at the Prairie du Chien hospital where he had been a patient for a few days seeking relief from a heart ailment.

Deceased was born March 20, 1903, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles (formerly Loretta Henry) Haas., Following the death of his father he continued to operate the home farm. He is survived by his widow, who was Viola Knickerbocker of Lansing, and by six children, Rose, Charles, Edith, Earl, Violet and Douglas, all at home; also two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Peterson of near Jamestown, N. D. and Mrs. Hazel Metzdorf of New Albin.

The remains reposed at the Martin Bros. Funeral parlors, Waukon, until Monday morning when furneral services were held at St. Mary’s Church, Lycurgus. A Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Pastor, Rev. Francis Bradshaw, with burial in the nearby cemetery.
