Hazel Flage

Funeral services for Hazel Flage were held Thursday, Dec. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Zalmona Presbyterian Church, rural Waukon., Rev. James Jacobson officiated. Interment was in the Zalmona Cemetery. Martin’s Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Helen Flage, daughter of Charles Henry and Mary Colsch Henry was born April 26, 1908 on her parents farm in rural Waukon., She died Dec, 11, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Lycurgus Catholic Church, rural Waukon. She attended school in rural Allamakee County Schools.

On December 27, 1927 she married Harvey A. Flage at Waukon. They farmed until 1982 then moved to Southcrest manor, in the last year she moved to the Good Samaritan Center.

She was a member of Zalmona Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Women’s Group there.

Preceding her in death were brothers and sisters: Theodore Henry, Leo Henry, Milton Henry, George Henry and Loretta Duffy.

Survivers include: 2 sons, Kenneth Flage, Waukon, Dr. John Flage, Independence and a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Erickson, Mitchellville, Ia.

Pallbearers: Craig Flage, Lyle Leikvold, Bob Lawrence, Jesse Holt, Rick Shissler, Bob Henry, Jeff Erickson.
