Hazelle Metzdorff

Hazelle L. Metzdorff died on Tues., Nov. 14, 2000, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. No funeral services were held.

Hazelle was born on April 16, 1901, near Lycurgus in rural Waukon. Her parents were Charles and Hannah (Henry) Haas. She attended Lycurgus area schools. On Dec. 29, 1919, she married Harry Metzdorff. Hazel worked at the Lansing button Factory and also the Taffy Apple in Chicago, Il. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Albin.

Hazelle is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry: a son, Harris; four brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include three sons, Henry (Joan) Metzdorff of Vandalia, Il, Addis (Pauline) Metzdorff of Harwood Heights, Il, and Nathan, also of Illinois; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her ashes were interred at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in New Albin.

Martin Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family.
