George Duffy

George Duffy, 68, of Waukon, died May 4, 2000, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held May 8 at Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon under the direction of Rev. Ed Lechtenberg. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dorchester.

George was born Oct. 5, 1931, in Waukon to parents William and Loretta Henry Duffy. He was a farmer and construction laborer for most of his life, living in Waukon as well as Cedar Rapids.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, William, Milton and Charles Duffy; and two sisters, Marjorie and Mary Duffy.

George is survived by several nephews, nieces, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Casketbearers for the service were Jay, Jayson, Jayme and Scott Duffy, and Lewis and Lyle Byrnes.

Arrangements were handled b y Hanson’s Funeral Home in Waukon
