Death of a Young Wife
Mrs. Gus Leppert died of heart failure at her home near Berlin, N. D., on Thursday, Oct. 24th, 1918, aged 30 years, 10 months and 5 days. The deceased’s maiden name was Clara Henry and she was married to Gus Leppert six years ago last June. To them were born two sons, who, with the bereaved husband, survive. She was a daughter of Charles Henry, deceased, and was born on the old homestead four miles northwest of Waukon. Her mother, four brothers, Charles, Andrew, John and Joseph, and three sisters, Mrs. C.H. Haas, Mrs. Gus Gruber and Mrs. Moritz Gruber, all of this county, also survive her. Shortly after her marriage she went to Berlin, N. D., with her husband, where she resided until death claimed her.
The body was brought here for burial, accompanied by her husband, his brother, J. M. of Berlin, and her niece, Miss Elsie Haas, arriving Saturday evening. Burial took place Sunday afternoon in the Lycurgus cemetery, Rev. Father McNamara officiating at the grave.
