Frank L. Swenson

Frank L. Swenson, 93, of Everett, Washington died January 5, 1983 in a hospital in Everett.

He was born January 5, 1890 and lived on a farm in the Postville area.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1912 and upon being discharged became associated with the rug making business in Yakima. He re-enlisted in the army where he again served during WW II. After his army service he held the office of Police Sergeant in Yakima for [paper is tore here and can't read] years. After moving to Seattle he operated the Standard Detective Agency for a long period of time. In 1941 he purchased the old fairgrounds in Snohomish and built the first Farmer's Auction Livestock Sale Barn which he operated for 18 years. Mr. Swenson also pioneered and built the first shopping center in Snohomish. He was a member of Centennial Lodge No. 25 F. & A.M., WW I Barracks No. 1173, VFW Post No. 96, Master Mason's Club and Garden City Grange.

Mr. Swenson was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille and son Frank, Jr.

He is survived by his sister, Lillian Harris of Seattle; adopted son, Robert Swenson of Seattle; several grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and niece and nephews Florence Ruckdaschel, Hall Swenson and Roland Swenson.
