Word has been received in La Crosse of the death of Miss Catherine Howes of Waukon, Ia., at Chicago, where she was taken a few weeks ago for treatment for a cancerous growth in the back of the head. She had been at St. Francis hospital here for some time before her removal to Chicago. The body has been sent to Waukon for burial.
