Martha Amanson was born in Norway, Nov. 2, 1824, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Christopherson, near Postville, Iowa, Sept. 20, 1910, aged 85 years, 10 months and 18 days. She was married to Nels Olson, who with one daughter, and a daughter by a previous marriage, 18 grandchildren and numerous friends survive to mourn her loss. She came to America in 1870, settling in Iowa, in which state she continued to reside until called to her reward. She united with the Lutheran church early in life and continued true to the faith to the end. A long, patient sufferer, her struggles are over, she rests at peace with God. The funeral was held from the home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. S. Westfall. Interment in Postville cemetery.
