Postville Review, Sat., 26 May 1894.(condensed).

George W. Owen was born in Juno (Juneau ?) county, Wisconsin, Jan. 8, 1871, and died at the home of Mr. Russell, near Luana, May 18, 1894, from injuries received by the kick of a horse. He lived but 32 hours after receiving the injury.

George Owen's name was almost a synonym for morality and uprightness. Those who knew him best prized him most. He was converted at Bethel church in 1890. He was a frequent attendant at services of the Methodist church and the Epworth League in Postville.

George came to Iowa on Oct. 10, 1879, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Owen, who have resided in Post township ever since. He leaves his parents, three brothers and four sisters to mourn his loss, and who have the sympathy of all who have known him.

The services were held on Sunday, 20 May, at the W. A. Owen's home.
