Postville Review, Sat., 26 May 1894.

Henry Eggert, one of the oldest, best known and most respected German citizens of Grand Meadow township, passed away last Friday evening, the funeral being held from the Lutheran church on Monday afternoon, the church being filled by sorrowing friends of both German and American nationalities. We cannot learn that he ever made an enemy during all his many years of active life in Clayton county. The Universal expression is that a grand good man has gone to his reward. We do not exact age, but it was somewhere in the sixties. Our sympathy is extended to all who mourn.
