George Sebastian

Funeral services for George "Bobby" Sebastian were held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Monday, September 10 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Mr. Sebastian died in St. Joseph Hospital, Mankato, Minnesota, September 5.

George Charles Sebastian, son of Frank and Margaret [Meyer] Sebastian, was born August 23, 1888 in Postville. Bobbie, as he was best known, was educated in a little red brick country school house west of Postville. In 1916 he was united in marriage to Anna Kohrs and they became the parents of 2 children, Margaret and Leo.

Mr. Sebastian was baptized and confirmed in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville and transferred to the Community Presbyterian Church January 7, 1927. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

He was engaged in barbering in Postville for nearly 60 years. The past 3 years he had resided in the Christian Manor in Tracy, Minnesota, and had been active in the Senior Citizens Club in that city.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife on January 26, 1966, one sister, Carolyn and 3 brothers, Frank, Bill and John.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Anderson of Comstock Park, Michigan and his son Leo of Tracy, Minnesota; also a sister, Mrs. William (Tillie) Meyer of Monona; a brother Henry of Park Rapids, Minnesota. There are 3 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and other relatives.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
