Services Held For Mrs. Sebastian

Mrs. Frank D. Sebastian, nee Lydia Nolte, the daughter of Simon and Johanna (Fogt) Nolte, was born in Allamakee county, Iowa on October 23, 1886. She was baptized in the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Ludlow on November 20, 1886 and confirmed on March 23, 1902. She became a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville in 1907. She died suddenly at her home on April 18, 1965 at the age of 78 years, five months and 26 days.

She was married to Frank Sebastian on March 27, 1907. To this union were born 3 children. The couple made their home on a farm northwest of Postville until 1940, when they moved to town.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers, Jack Nolte of Burr Oak, and Ben Nolte of Burlington; and 2 sisters, Lena, Mrs. John Meyer of Ossian and Mrs. Louise Evans of Salem, Oregon.

She is survived by one daughter, Florence, Mrs. Sheldon Hall of Postville; 2 sons, Harlan of Postville and Robert of Mason City; 2 sisters, Augusta, Mrs. Simon Brandt of Waukon and Laura, Mrs. Ed Goeke of Decorah; one brother, William Nolte of Waukon; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She has been an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville for 58 years, and an Honor Roll member of the Lutheran Church Women.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Postville, on Thursday, April 22, at 1:30 p.m.. Interment was in the Postville cemetery with the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's officiating.
