Donald Sherbonda Killed in Crash

Donald Sherbonda, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hermie Sherbonda of Luana, was killed Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, at about 1:30 o'clock when his car was run over in a head on collision by a flat-bed truck loaded with tractors.

Thomas E. Hintz, 40, of Glenville, Minn., driver of the truck, was hospitalized with chest injuries and 3 fractured ribs.

Authorities said the accident happened on highway 64 about 14 miles southwest of Marshalltown.

It took more than 2 hours for wrecking crews to extricate the body from the car. It required 4 tow trucks to bring in the wreckage of the vehicles.

The body is now at the Schultz Funeral home, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
