Mrs. Martha E. Carlyle, 107, Lansing, died Monday, Jan. 1, in her home.

She was born May 13, 1871, in Oxford, Wis., to Henry H. and Amy C. (Visger) Harder. She married Horace G. Carlyle and he died Sept. 13, 1951. She had worked for the Lansing Co. in the toy department prior to her retirement.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Magnusson of Lansing and Mrs. Elsie Abitz of Exeter, Mo.; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, two grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, with the Rev. John J. Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
