Mrs. William Schroeder, whose Maiden name was Lo----r, was born in Alswede, Germany, J--. 10, 1859, and died at her home near Postville, at -:15 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 2-, 1907, aged 48 years, 10 months and 13 days. She came to America in 1884 and on Sept. 25th of the same year was united in marriage with William Schroeder, of which union was born six children three boys and three girls. Until two years ago she enjoyed the best of health. At that time disease began its attack upon her, from the first onslaught of which she rallied and got about again. But in July last a return of her ailment, more severe than before, made it necessary that she submit to an operation, which was done, but despite all that skill and loving care could do for her she grew weaker day by day until her demise. Her husband, six children, two brothers and three sisters in Germany, beside many friends mourn the loss of a faithful wife, loving mother and true friend.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church in this city on Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. Kuehne officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.

The family wish to thank all who in any way rendered assistance during the illness and burial of their beloved wife and mother.

According to the information I have on William Henry Schroeder, his first wife was Dorthea (Doretta) Wilhilmina Loeffler. She was born January 20, 1859. She died November 23, 1907.

Her six children were: Louis Fredrick Schroeder, who married Lena S. Behrens; William Schroeder, who married Clara Louise Wegner; Jennie Louise Charlotte Schroeder, who married Fred C. Schara; Amanda (Emma) Schroeder, who married John Carl Kohrs; Edward F. Schroeder, who married Jessye Halverson; and Ella Anna Schroeder, who married Thomas Franklin Monroe.
