Death of Daisy M. Robinson

Daisy M. Robinson was born May 6, 1875 in New Albin, Iowa, and passed away March 22, 1952. She was the daughter of John T. and Georgiana (Haines) Robinson, and her entire life was spent in this community. Miss Daisy was baptized and received into the membership of the Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service, and always a very faithful and regular attendant at the worship services of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Frank, and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Maude Zamzow of Ada, Minn., and Mrs. Hope Greer, of Chicago, Ill. Miss Daisy has been a patient, uncomplaining sufferer for more than a year. Several months ago she went to live with her sister, Mrs. Zamzow, at Ada, Minn. For the past seven weeks she had been a patient in the hospital of that city, where she passed away as above stated.

The following words are spoken of her by one of her life-long friends:

“Daisy has gone out across the sun-swept Hill of Eternity to join the hosts that have gone on before her, her loved ones, your loved ones and mine. No better tribute can be paid her that this; she was ever a true loyal friend. No one could have been, a truer earthly friend than she was to the many friends and neighbors she has left behind. The little home at the foot of Third St. can never be quite the same to many of us as it has been for many years.

"Daisy was president of the New Albin Cemetery Association for many years and up to the time of her passing away. As she was loyal to her friends, she was also loyal to her church. Knowing Daisy as I do, I know she will be waiting near the Gate of the Eternal City to welcome you and me.”

Sunset and evening star, and one clear call me! And may there be no moaning of the bar when I put out to sea. Twilight and evening bell, and after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell when I embark. For though from out the bourne of time and space the flood may bear me far, I hope to see My Pilot face to face when I have crossed the bar.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist Church in New Albin with the Rev. Frank Cass officiating and saying the prayers at the graveside in the New Albin Cemetery.
