Bernard Welper Dies in Hospital

Bernard Louis Welper, 68, Union City township farmer, died at Caledonia hospital April 24. He had been ill for some time.

Deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Welper and was born in Union City Township where he has always made his home.

He is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. John Munz, Lansing; Mrs. George Hagen and Mrs. Frank Buege of New Albin; William, Mrs. Louis Wiemerslage and Walter of Dorchester; Mrs. Herman Renk and Benjamin of New Albin; and Mrs. Charles King of Waukon.

He was preceded in death by his father who died in 1910, his mother who died in 1927, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were conducted from St. Luke's Evangelical and Reformed church on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. H.W. Radloff officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
